Each installment of the B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash is packed with serious star power and hit makers galore, but when the iconic radio station announced the biggest pop star on the planet, the best-selling boy band of all-time and several other of today's trendsetters, all 360 degrees of the Allstate Arena basically sold out in a blink. And for those who were quick enough to buy/win a seat, or rather, a spot to stand in front of one, it was nearly four hours of wall-to-wall entertainment that will surely go down in annals of pure pop culture pleasure.

A significant component in the equation was of course Taylor Swift, the country singer/songwriter turned pop superstar who just dropped the immensely anticipated "Reputation" reinvention. Armed with alternative dance grooves, R&B flavors and some sassy new steps shared with four other gals, the entertainer extraordinaire and her band entered to the rumbling beats of "…Ready For It?" before busting out the past classics "Blank Space" and "Shake It Off" to enormous cheers.

Former One Direction heartthrob Zayn might not have been present for "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," but Swift more than held her own as she returned to her acoustic guitar roots for a solo rendition. And leave it to B96 to land the first-ever concert performance of the fresh cut "Gorgeous," followed by the proclamation of "I'm sorry, the old Taylor can't come to the phone right now" as "Look What You Made Me Do" wrapped up this preview of what will surely be one of the most massive stadium tours ever staged.

For those dreaming of Las Vegas in the doldrums of winter, the more than 130 times platinum Backstreet Boys brought a slice of "Larger Than Life" to an audience of die-hards and many who might not have been born at the group's inception 25 years ago. Nonetheless, Nick Carter, Howie D., Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, plus a cast of no less than ten dancers, were clearly cross-generational stars who incited a constant sing-a-long thanks to the anthemic "Larger Than Life," "The One" and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," alongside the power ballads "As Long As You Love Me," "I Want It That Way" and so many more.

He may not bear much musical resemblance to either of those acts, but rapper Logic is poised to keep scaling that same mountain to become a household name thanks to his insanely catchy choruses, ridiculously fast rhymes and one of this year's most meaningful messages in the suicide prevention-themed "1-800-273-8255." Unfortunately, one of that track's collaborators Khalid (who opened the evening) didn't stick around long enough to deliver his lines, but nonetheless entertained with tunes from "American Teen," flanked by a pair of perky cheerleaders and a surprise appearance from Marshmello in the DJ booth.

There was additional girl power from the quartet line-up of Fifth Harmony and actress/singer Sabrina Carpenter (accompanied by guest DJ duo Lost Kings), though the night definitely belonged to the co-headliners. Those who missed out or want more need not fear as Swift comes to Soldier Field June 1 and 2, while the Backstreet Boys kick off their Sin City residency January 31, plus keep tabs on the radio dial for the date of the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash to pick up where this extensive holiday celebration left off.
