Blues fans will be heading towards the waters in Chicago once again this year when the 19th annual Chicago Blues Festival honors Muddy Waters, May 30-June 2 at Grant Park.
The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest free admission Blues festival in the world, and is open from 12:00-9:30 p.m. daily. The four-day festival offers the some of the best in national, international and local Blues entertainment on six stages with more than 70 performers, preceded by a month of Blues activities (Blues season) throughout Chicago. The Chicago Blues Festival brings people of all ages, families and blues afficionados from all over the world to enjoy the blues. More than half a million people attend this popular festival!
Each day the Chicago Blues Festival has a different theme, with guest appearances by many blues greats and many surprises as well. Past performers include Chuck Berry, Ike Turner, Otis Rush, Irma Thomas, Sam Lay, Honey Boy Edwards, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Buddy Guy, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Homesick James, Elvin Bishop and many more.
