Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist St.
Vincent may have started out as a member of The Polyphonic Spree and touring
band member behind Sufjan Stevens, but these days she's practically just as
popular as either of those acts. The baroque pop/art rocker's solo headlining
jaunt comes on the heels of opening for Arcade Fire, Death Cab For Cutie and
Andrew Bird, which have only added to her hipster appeal. Friday, May 11 at Vic

Bird's currently on tour in support of his new CD Break it Yourself (Mom+Pop),
but if there's one date to catch, it's hands down his Chicago
homecoming show. The troubadour's always been generous to the Windy
City, and besides new tunes,
promises plenty of career spanning indie rock, folk and baroque pop spun in his
critically-acclaimed tradition. Saturday, May 12 at Auditorium Theatre: www.jamusa.com. A rock n' roll supergroup: What
happens when you mix the other half of Van Halen, a guitar god and one of the
world's greatest rock n' roll drummers? Check out the Chickenfoot show to find
out and rev up for front man Sammy Hagar, bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe
Satriani and drummer Kenny Aronoff as they blaze through two studio discs of
bawdy rockers and perhaps a classic rock cover or two. Saturday, May 12 at Chicago
