Gear up for Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys and more at 2013 Grammy Awards
Monday, February 4, 2013
No music industry accolade is as coveted as that golden, gramophone-shaped Grammy Award and it's just about that time for red carpets to be walked and envelopes to be opened. The 2013 installment marks the 55th annual celebration and it once again pulls out all the stops when it comes to superstar artists vying for the ultimate prize in their respective genres. But perhaps even more exciting are the slew of live performances, which thus far span Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and fun. (though many more surprises are sure to pop up by showtime).
Speaking of Mumford & Sons, the six time 2013 nominees return to the performance front after triumphantly tackling its top tune "The Cave" two years ago. Though the indie/folk rockers have yet to announce exactly what's on the set list, material will probably come off its sophomore project "Babel," which not only overflows with more mighty harmonies and sophisticated songwriting, but is further affording the English act international acclaim.
On a Black Keys note, the two time winners and current five time nominees are slated to make its first after performance on the telecast. It's practically a shoe-in the duo comprised of front man/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney will turn in something off "El Camino," which could possibly win over the uninitiated thanks to its blustery blues and grungy garage rockin' repertoire..
Catch all of the above and so much more on CBS Sunday, February 10 from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT): www.grammy.com.
