Going Gaga for pop's leading Lady, Kem with Chrisette, plus a Canadian classic
Monday, February 11, 2013
Going Gaga for pop's leading Lady: Continuing right where "The Monster Ball" left off, Lady Gaga takes her fabulousness to the next level on "The Born This Way Ball," which is hands down the most anticipated tour of 2013. And based on reviews from other cities thus far, it could quite possibly be the best, blowing her previous record breaking spectacle out of the water in terms of both sheer star power and some of the most infectious dance pop songs of her entire generation. Wednesday, February 13 and Thursday, February 14 at United Center: www.livenation.com.
Kem with Chrisette: Of all today's neo-soul crooners, few emote the passion and sophistication of Kem, who makes the journey from the Motor City once again to serenade with songs like "Why Would You Stay," "Share My Life" and "You're On My Mind." Soul siren Chrisette Michele cements the Valentine's weekend celebration with her sultry back catalogue, plus possible previews off 2013's "Better." Saturday, February 16 at Arie Crown Theater: www.ariecrown.com.
A Canadian classic: Canadian classic rock royalty The Guess Who head back on the touring trails throughout America, and although its line-up may have changed, the band's timeless sound remains the same. Though the group has too many hits to even mention, it's a pretty safe bet "American Woman," "These Eyes," "No Time" and "Hand Me Down World" will show up on the set list, alongside a new tune or two. Saturday, February 16 at Arcada Theatre: www.oshows.com.
