Cyndi's "Unusual" celebration, two nights of Crowes, Benatar and Giraldo's red hot rock
Monday, October 28. 2013

Cyndi Lauper Cyndi Lauper Cyndi Lauper Cyndi Lauper

Cyndi's "Unusual" celebration: It's been 30 years since Cyndi Lauper debuted with the eclectic pop project "She's So Unusual," but not a minute goes by when "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" or "Time After Time" aren't being played on the radio somewhere across the globe. The 16 million copy selling album also boasts mega singles like "She Bop," "Money Changes Everything" and "All Through The Night," which will all be on display as she runs through the entire colorful collection, complete with never before heard stories behind the songs. Friday, November 1 at Chicago Theatre: www.thechicagotheatre.com.

Black Crowes <Black Crowes Black Crowes

Two nights of Crowes: The best on again/off again band in the business is back (at least for the moment) with two headlining shows after a summer stint with the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Even if The Black Crowes don't have a new studio album to tout, this tour on the heels of 2013's live document "Wiser For The Time" is sure to smolder with psychedelically-charged alternative rock and plenty of impromptu jams. Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 at Vic Theatre: www.jamusa.com.

Benatar and Giraldo Benatar and Giraldo Benatar and Giraldo Benatar and Giraldo

Benatar and Giraldo's red hot rock: Throughout all of the 1980s, Pat Benatar was literally unstoppable as the preeminent female rocker on the charts, and while her recording pace may have cooled considerably since then, she's still red hot on the road with guitar mastermind/career long collaborator/hubby Neil Giraldo by her side. Usually the gritty pair takes to the outdoor amphitheatre circuit, so consider this a rare treat to hear hits like "Hit Me with Your Best Shot," "Love Is A Battlefield" and "Invincible" in an intimate and incredibly historic theatre that recently opened its doors to rock n' roll. Sunday, November 3 at Copernicus Center: www.copernicuscenter.org.
