Some heat from Reverend Horton, Aldean indoors, plus Babyface is back
Monday, January 13, 2014
Some heat from Reverend Horton: It's been a few years since Revered Horton Heat dropped a record (2009's "Laughin' & Cryin' with the Reverend Horton Heat" to be exact), but the group remains active on the road. The alternative country-infused act is still blurring the lines between rockabilly, psychobilly and plenty of other undefined styles, always electrifying audiences with every raucous turn. Friday, January 17 at House of Blues: www.livenation.com.
Aldean indoors: After selling out Wrigley Field last summer, one of country's fastest rising stars Jason Aldean returns to Illinois on the latest leg of the immensely successful "Night Train" tour. Besides his high intensity, rollicking, rock n' roll-styled shows, expect plenty of promise from openers Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr. Saturday, January 18 at iWireless Center: www.livenation.com.
Babyface is back: Between his 11 album-spanning solo career and collaborations with other artists, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds has racked up 10 Grammy Awards, 16 chart-topping pop hits and 42 #1 R&B hits. In addition to taking fans on a soulful journey through his illustrious past, chances are he'll provide a peak at an upcoming duets album with Toni Braxton called "Love, Marriage & Divorce" (which hits streets February 4 on Motown Records). Saturday, January 18 at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino: www.thevenuechicago.com.
