Staind singer solo, Daft Punk tribute, plus sing-a-long to The Beatles
Monday, February 17, 2014
Staind singer solo: When he's not singing for hard rockers Staind ("It's Been Awhile"), Aaron Lewis takes on an entirely different artistic direction. In fact, anyone who's heard his Grammy-nominated full-length solo debut "The Road" would most likely call it straight up country crossed with an acoustic dynamic, all of which compliments the storytelling nature of Lewis' songwriting. Saturday, February 22 at The Venue At Horseshoe Casino: www.thevenuechicago.com.
Daft Punk tribute: Electronic heroes Daft Punk may have swept this year's Grammy Awards, but that doesn't mean the extremely reclusive French duo is hitting the road any time soon. That's why One More Time (named after the group's smash single) is raking in the dough on the road, not only recreating the group's grooves with amazing accuracy, but also its state of the art light show. Saturday, February 22 at House Of Blues: www.livenation.com.
Sing-a-long to The Beatles: There's a plethora of 50th anniversary events relating to The Beatles' first appearance in America, but few are as creative as the Arcada Theatre's upcoming bash. While the main event is a sing-a-long to the Fab Four's favorite film "A Hard Days Night" on a jumbo screen, there's also live entertainment from The Ralleys and Liverpool's very own host Steve Marshall, plus a look-a-like contest with cash prizes. Sunday, February 23 at Arcada Theatre: www.oshows.com.
