Monday, February 24, 2014
Simon teams with Sting: One of the most prominent double bills in recent memory stars Paul Simon and Sting, who besides performing treasured cuts from their individual catalogues, are also slated to cover one another and likely collaborate. It's indeed a dream come true for every generation spanning Simon & Garfunkel to The Police and each superstar artist's solo careers, all of which will be on display throughout this once-in-a-lifetime marathon. Tuesday, February 25 at United Center: www.livenation.com.
Lady A's make-up date: After postponing a fall date, Lady Antebellum finally comes to town in support of its latest project "Golden." Besides hearing those tunes and smash singles like "Need You Now," "I Run To You" and "Just A Kiss," the "Take Me Downtown" tour also features performances from fellow country favorites Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves. Wednesday, February 26 at Allstate Arena: www.jamusa.com.
A real life Ramone: Punk trailblazers The Ramones may be no more, but the flag is still flying high thanks to '80s era drummer/songwriter Richie Ramone. In addition to re-creating the group's solo classics on stage with a full band, the beatkeeper's also primed to unveil material from his first ever solo album "Entitled," which hit streets at the end of last year. Thursday, February 27 at Mayne Stage: www.maynestage.com.
