at the Aragon, double
decker soul, plus the peak of modern day prog rock
Monday, March 31, 2014
EDM at the Aragon: He's been ruling the dance floor for the last three decades, but ever since his multi-platinum albums "One Love" and "Nothing But The Beat" hit streets, David Guetta instantly became one of the world's most visible DJs. Besides collaborating with The Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Usher and Kid Cudi, the French favorite is known for selling out clubs all the world over and this show is sure to do the same. Friday, April 4 at Aragon Ballroom: www.clubtix.com.
Double decker soul: Starting with his time in funk favorites L.T.D. and continuing through an even more fruitful solo career, Jeffery Osborne made a name for himself as one of the smoothest soul men of his generation. He co-headliners a unique bill with Scottish funk rockers Average White Band, known for the instrumental staple "Pick Up The Pieces," and perhaps even more notably, influencing A Tribe Called Quest and Arrested Development. Friday, April 4 at The Venue at Horseshoe Casino: www.thevenuechicago.com.
The peak of modern day prog rock: When it comes to modern day progressive rock crossed with metal, no act is more mighty than Dream Theater. Whether it's the world class players or its light and smoke spectacle, the Boston band's shows are always a must for the extremely dedicated, plus in the case of this outing, it's a chance to hear tunes from late last year's self-titled twelfth studio album. Saturday, April 5 at Chicago Theatre: www.thechicagotheatre.com.
