Jake Owen was determined to make Father's Day special for the dads (and moms) in the packed house in Tucson. After rocking out with the set opener "Down to the Honkytonk," the Floridian native made it very clear that he was there to party hard on the last night of his tour with his daughter, Pearl. Early in the set Pearl made a quick appearance as she raced across the stage during her father's set. The singer got emotional since it was Father's Day and it was the last day for her to be on the tour.

The tour supports his new album release, Greetings From . . .Jake. It is his first full album release on the Big Loud Records. The show and the album collection showcase Owen's traditional country and 'coastal' musical roots. The singer/songwriter's hits like "Beachin'," and "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" were total 'singalongs' that fans were wholeheartedly willing to perform with Owen. "Eight Second Ride" and "Drink All Day" were given just as much gusto.

There were many great moments during the show. He ventured into the audience by the fourth song. The venue is outdoors and was packed with approximately 5,000 people. Owen made a complete tour of the venue including the lawn section shaking hands, taking selfies, and giving autographs while singing and he never missing a beat. It was a very happy crowd.

Owen is very aware that he has a large 'lady' fan base. However, he noticed a couple of dudes up front singing along with him and they knew every word to his songs. He expressed his glee at this 'bro-love' of his music and invited fan, Kevin, to join him on stage and sing with him. Kevin joined him on stage with beer in hand and unabashedly sang with Owen. Kevin knew the words for sure, but he needs to keep his day job. It was all in fun.

One of the best musical moments of the night was when the band left the stage and Owen was left with his acoustic guitar. He dedicated George Strait's "Love Without End, Amen" to all of the father's in the crowd. Tempo dominated the night, as "Alone With You" and "Love Without End Amen" were about the only sit-down songs performed.

Owen has a tremendous stage presence that allows him to move all over the stage. So many times he danced quite comfortably at the back of the stage as his guitarist, horn players or harmonica player were featured. "Days of Gold" was a dizzying blues-country-rock jam that allowed his band to excel.

Owen's single "I Was Jack (You Were Diane)," was greeted with overwhelming response as the show closer. Owen said it best with, "The fact that I can be out here with people singing the lyrics back to me after all these years is still a big deal to me. I don't take any of it for granted." Move over Jimmy Buffett. There is a new kid in town.
