Christina Aguilera was the headlining act at the Acura stage Friday May 2, 2014 and her fans gathered at the stage very early in the day to see their goddess of song up close and personal. Rumor had it that she was pregnant and fans got the rumors confirmed.

Fred LeBlanc of Cowboy Mouth observed that all the acts today were female. "I don't know how I got in the mix." His observation was correct. The first act up was New Orleans native, Mia Borders. She has on-stage charisma of an much older performer. Rock is her forte and she delivers it with fire and grit. She introduced Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" with "I've been single for awhile, but I'm putting this to the universe that I'm dedicating this to her next love. Her music and her presence is that candid.

Cowboy Mouth gave their usual pep rally performance to the crowd. As usual, the crowd lapped it up like hungry puppies. They waved their hands, screamed, squatted on the ground and jumped on command from Fred. It works every year! And the name of the band is . . . Cowboy Mouth.

Amanda Shaw and her band The Cute Guys gave a peppy energetic set of Cajun music. Amanda informed the crowd this was her 14th appearance at Jazz Fest and she is 23 years old. She was a child prodigy. She studied classical violin starting at age 4, and at 8 began playing and performing Cajun music. She has been touring since that time.

Theresa Andersson is a New Orleans resident originally from Sweden. Her set at Jazz Fest this year was not a one-woman show. Instead she had a full band and she introduced new, unique music. The show was stunning and the new material will be released later this year.

Finally our favorite diva made her appearance. Her show was a full cabaret style set. She had four dancers with full chorographic routines. She selected "Lady Marmalade" to sing for her entrance with Mardi Gras' head dress. She was ready to party, sing and dance. There was a definite bulge in her mid-section that was obvious even though she wore a white smock initially. Once she had a break, X-tina told the crowd about her pregnancy and that the baby was a girl. There was a glow in her appearance and she was downright sexy.

The performer left the stage often for small wardrobe changes — mostly hats or head pieces. Christina danced as well as sang. Her voice was stunning. Some of the songs she sang were "Dirrty," "Candyman," "Ain't No Other Man," "Beautiful," "What a Girl Wants," and her final song of the night, "Fighter." This was a very satisfying set for the fans that waited so patiently to see this "beautiful" lady.
