SuicideGirls is an online community that features pin-up erotica and profiles of goth, punk, and emo -styled young women who are known as the "SuicideGirls."
Blackheart Burlesque features some of these beautiful and exotic women and call themselves "a pop culture nerdgasm." They perform dance routines with nerdy themes and costumes such as Star Wars, video games, superheroes, Michael Jackson's Thriller, and more. That is, until there is no more costume. This is not the burlesque of yesteryear. The show opens with a female announcer with a British accent who lays down the rules for the show. The rules include take as many pictures as you want and to be sure to post them on social media and "tag us." There are feather boas, knock me down fuck me high heels, flashy lights, some raging beats and really gorgeous girls. The girls are not traditionally beautiful, but beautiful just the same. Their bodies are adorned with some of the most incredible tattoos ever seen.
The dance routines feature some very inventive choreography and shows off the true athleticism of these ladies. They have a knack of taking the most unsexy pop culture icons and transforming them. The positive energy emitted by the performers is so infectious that the crowd couldn't get enough. While each song brought seductive moves, the songs were paired with acts of physical strength.
Audience participation couldn't get any better. A chosen couple got lessons on how to do a sultry lap dance. A "nerd" was plucked from the crowd and asked to do a reading comprehension test while a gorgeous Suicide Girl fought for his attention (doing a lap dance).
This is self-indulgent exhibitionism at its best. More than anything, it was a lot of fun.
