It was another year and another mud-fest at Country Thunder USA in Twin
Lakes.
Rain on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday dampened the grounds, but as
the old cliche goes, it didn't dampen the spirits of the country
concert-goers. This year, Country Thunder spread out over five days instead of the traditional four, offering fans some extra entertainment for the money. The '05 "mega" lineup featured performers from the little known (Laurie Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Reckless Kelly, Harry Luge and more) to the old-time favorites (Little Texas, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ top), to Nashville's breakthrough performers (Big & Rich, Joe Nichols, Josh Gracin, Darryl Worley and Sara Evans) to the superstars (LeAnn Rimes, Montgomery Gentry, Keith Urban and Tim McGraw). It's those last two Superstars that, for me, made another trip to Country Thunder really worth going. |
