Review and photos by Frances SealyFlo Rida led a Saturday night party for a wildly welcoming crowd. He landed at Tucson's airport at 9 p.m. and was on stage by 9:30 p.m. Charisma was the secret word for the night and Flo Rida knows how to get maximum audience participation during a show.
The rapper, singer, songwriter hails from Carol City, Florida and has a storied history in rap music. Flo Rida and his DJ took charge as soon as he stepped on stage. The superstar was wearing a denem jacket and matching capri pants that were perfect for the Arizona heat. The crowning accessory was his pair of gold sneakers. The party started officially when Flo Rida cracked a bottle of pink champagne and literally shared it with the fans. Early on, he invited all the ladies in the audience to join him on stage. That was after he handed long-stemmed red roses to the lucky women close to the stage. He was particularly fond of the youngest fans. He handed out bling to a little girl who brought her sunglasses to the affair. Her mom brought her sunglasses as well. A youngster, TJ, gave a very loud rendition of "Low."
Flo Rida reminded the fans that he has had 100 million record sales to date. The hits kept coming throughout the night and the fans sang along knowing all the words. As Flo Rida sang "Wild Ones," "Right Round," "My House," and "Green Light," he would cruise the crowd on the shoulders a security guard. He bumped hands, kissed the kids, and maneuvered throughout the arena while singing at the same time. He has no fear of the crowd and the security guard must have the strongest shoulders in Arizona.
Flo Rida gave three dudes equal time on stage toward the end of the show. They actually sang with him. However, it was obvious that the women were his favorite. Fun was the order of the night and the ladies loved Flo Rida.
