Attention nu-metal guitarists: It's time to plug in those axes, 'cuz Limp Bizkit is scouring the nookies and crannies of the U.S. in search of a new guitarist to replace Wes Borland, who recently left the band in October.
Their "Put Your Guitar Where Your Mouth Is" Tour, will be stopping at Guitar Centers throughout 23 cities in search of new ax man.But if the only thing you're planning on bringing along is your guitar, you might as well keep noodling in your bedroom, because the band is looking for a whole lot more. As lead vocalist Fred Durst explained to Guitar Center, "I don't want to replace Wes. I want a new songwriter to take us in a new direction." So if you think you've got what it takes to make Limp Bizkit rise, then get your ax down to Guitar Center and show 'em what you got!
Here's the details:
The closed audition will take place on Wednesday, January 23rd at 10 am at the Arlington Heights, IL. Guitar Center with a meet-and-greet with Limp Bizkit's management. All applicant's will perform along with a recording that will require the guitarist to play a slow, mid-tempo and fast number. Should any of the applicant's make the cut from the band's management team, they will perform with Limp Bizkit at 7 pm that same evening. This will actually be a 'jam' session with the band, not just simply an exercise in running through Limp Bizkit numbers. Guitar Center is located at 2375 S. Can't make it to audition in-person? You can upload an original song or guitar jam online and Limp Bizkit will review these as part of the search. Only original material will be accepted and judged by the band.
