Scott Stapp, formerly the iconic Creed lead vocalist, is part time solo artist and fronting the band, Art of Anarchy, the rest of the time. Drug addiction and meltdowns have plagued Scott in the past, but he has been clean for the last couple of years. Tucson was able to see Scott reaching 'higher' as a rock performer as a part of his "live and unplugged tour."

The tour had two acts opening for Mr. Stapp. The first act to open was Willet. Brothers, Jeremy and Justin Willet, are the band with a Christian rock attitude and spirit. Jeremy delivered pitch-perfect vocals while Justin played exquisite acoustic guitar. The performance was passionate and heartfelt. The self-penned songs were emotional, robust, and honest.

Canadian rock band, The Art of Dying, took the stage next with another powerful, unplugged set. The metal band delivered some of the most striking, harmonious vocals of the night. Jonny Hetherington was the lead vocalist. Cale Gontier and Tavis Stanley added much depth with their sound. Cody Watkins kept the beat flowing with the acoustic box drum. The highlight of the set included their performance the song, "Sorry." They poked fun at how Americans vs. Canadians pronounce the word sorry. They decided to sing it with the American pronunciation.

Finally, it was time for Scott Stapp to take the stage. Guitarist, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, (formerly from Guns N' Roses from 2006 to 2014), guitarist, Ben Flanders, drummer Dango, and bassist, Eli Reskow, took their seats on the stage before Scott appeared to the fans. These musicians proved why they are some of the best in the business in a very short time. The band was seated for the whole show. Even though the show was acoustic, the show did not have an stripped-down vibe.

Early in the set, Scott mentioned that the tour was commemorating the 20th anniversary of Creed's debut My Own Prison album released in 1997. Stapp said, "I thought it would be a throw back to the very beginning. When we first started out, we would take our acoustic guitars and go from house party to house party and sit on the couch and play to anybody who would listen. Tonight, this is your living room." Stapp had an infectious energy that permeated into the crowd as he sang passionately. The set list was Creed songs all the way, although, the My Own Prison album was not performed in its entirety.

This tour is an amazing opportunity to see a true rock icon in his prime. There are only a few dates left for the unplugged tour. However, there are opportunities to see Scott Stapp perform with The Art of Anarchy with Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Disturbed bassist, John Moyer.
