Story and photos by Andy Argyrakis After appearing at the intimate likes of the Double Door and House of Blues, The Killers have graduated to the somewhat sizeable Congress Theatre on its tour behind Sam's Town. The group mixed tunes from that sophomore CD (such as "When You Were Young") with hits from 2004's Hot Fuss ("Somebody Told Me," "Smile Like You Mean It") during a sweltering, sold out evening. The Brandon Flowers led synth-rockers continue gaining momentum by morphing slices of New Order, the glam of Duran Duran and even the anthemic abilities of Bruce Springsteen, putting them towards the top of today's commercial alt-pop pack. |
