Review: I think your review is COMPLETELY ridiculous. You're obviously NOT a fan and don't get the music at all. And I don't understand why you'd bother going to the concert if they 'dissappoint' so much. I disagree completely. Their live set was amazing, full of fun energy and perfect harmony.
Maybe the folks in Chicago are too full of themselves to take the time and enjoy some good music. my 2 cents.

Review: The pictures are great...makes me wish I were there again RIGHT NOW! I thought the show was awesome. Unfortanately, due to a major traffic accident on I90-94, we missed Vanessa Carlton. No mention of her performance?? I saw most of Third Eye Blind and thought, they too, put on a good show. I especially like the audience participation. This was the 5th time I had seen the Goos; by far the best show. The lights and back-drops were pretty amazing, too! My mom even enjoyed the show...and she is 48! Definetly worth the 4+ hour drive!!!

Review: Damn ... what a lousy review. Cheesehead fits. I saw Cher recently in Moline, Illinois, and she was terrific - and I was never a big Cher fan. Since, I have purchased the last two CD's and find them quite upbeat - interesting - and even spiritual in some ways. Her current tour is massive - I will see her again tomorrow evening in Champaign. IL, and I can't wait. Cut her some slack - she's been in the "biz" a long time - and a true DIVA to be sure. But what a brilliant and shinning "star!" Especially compared to the crap being played these days.

I also saw him at the tweeter center in chicago when he opened up for my second-favorite band, THE WHO. He kinda sucked. He definately performed 10000 times better at the eagles ballroom show. Review: The RHCP are a great band but since californication, they play music in order to make money! I want them to play the funky music of the beginning. My opinion is not universal and a lot of 13 or 14 years old girls are at variance with me because they have never listened the CD of the 80s.

Review: I LOVE JACK OFF JILL! I have been obsesseed with them for sometime now, but I just thought you people should know about them they are an awesome band, they are metal/rock/goth metal. You can't really classify them but they are awesome. I am advising all of you to download there music, here is a list of there best songs. (1) strawberry gashes(2)my cat (3)nazi halo (4)super sadist(5)fear of dying (6)american made (7)cinnimon spider (8)angels f*ck (9)girl scout(10)rabiteen. Of course those aren't the only good ones, but they are my personel fav. The band no longer exists they have broken up, unfortuntly. But the lead singer has a new band called "scarling" and the original band included none other than marylin manson. I hope you will all check them out.

Review: Hi I'm from Australia. I haven't been a huge Beck fan but after hearing this classic I now am. This is one of the most saddest yet beautiful albums I've ever listened too.Beck captures those feelings of emptyness and despair upon losing a close friend so well.

Review: Robert... I love you with all my heart. But my friend, please stop screechin'out tunes. It's ok with all of us if you just wanna retreat to the Misty Mountains & your favorite Black Hills and smell the flowers and walk in the fog. You did man! You (and the boys) changed music. YOU are the original. Enjoy your dancing days in those places that you so wonderfully shared with us through songs that still are brilliant electric magic. You'll have money until jesus gives you your wings in your time of dying. You changed us for the better. But my brother, it isn't here anymore. Write books, talk all day, your voice is wonderful in a conversation. But I feel you hurting yourself when you scream at us. It's ok, that it's over. We understand. What you DID will never die. And we respect you completely. No need to sing to the mountains - We're still here. It's ok to sing your song to the girl that won your heart - no longer 3 yrs old - but still a fine way to start. ...! and it still is 'Oh so good!'

artist: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
venue: United Center, Chicago Sept. 25 2002
Review: Bruce is still the Boss!
He and his fellow E-Streeters rocked the United Center in Chicago last night, blowing the sell out crowd away with a 23 song two and a half hour set, which included a vast majority of The Rising, but also old rockers done a-new, Ties that Bind, Jackson Cage, Badlands, Ramrod, and two surprises, She's the One, off of Born to Run, and For You off of Greetings from Asbury Park, featuring Bruce solo on the piano.
Other surprises came during the encore when the E-Street blasted out Dancin in the Dark and My Hometown, with guest vocalist, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam. A stunning set performed by the best band working, my hats off to Bruce and the crew!

Review: Sea Change is, to me, an inspiring reminder that I am here, standing on the earth. Just about every critique I've read so far concerning this album seems to be a bit off the mark with a focus on despair and lonliness. I hear something quite the opposite. Something uplifting in its focus...like it came from someone who dug his own pit, buried himself in it, then climbed back up through the dirt.
I can picture Beck dusting off his jeans and walking akwardly, but confidently, off into the sunset.

Review: I agree, the sound quality sucked!!! I've seen the stones eight times since 1975. they have always had excellent sound quality, until this show. c'mon mick, keith, give it a listen during the sound check before the gig, and tone it down a notch or two if you need to. also, about ticket prices, if the stones can get $300.00 a pop, good for them, and i'll pay it, but to think that die-hard fans are only at the club gigs is outragous. some of us die-hards could not get tickets to those shows. either play more theater shows or play a more diverse set list at the larger venues.

Review: Basically a good review, but two qualms: First, the song is called Sliding Through Life On Charm (not Sliding Life On A Charm). Second, the comment about her voice is very strange, considering that this has been the state and sound of her glorious voice since Broken English was released back in 1979. Was the last time you actually heard her sing in 1966?

Review: I agree with almost everything in the review, but I would have given "Provisions, Fiction and Gear" four stars instead of three and a half. By virtue of the fact that their sound is progressive but not postured like much of the manufactured angst-rock polluting the air waves lately, Moth deserves a bit more credit than they are getting. Don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED about the surge in popularity of the so-called garage-rock bands (The Hives. The Strokes, etc...)but it's important to move foreward and add on the past, not just steal from it.

Review: Bonnie, Please see my Rant point #2...the fact of the matter is, that tickets were available outside the venue for 1/2 price OR LESS at the Comiskey park show. No one should pay those kind of prices for second rate production (not talent). Although I was not there, I'm sure the UC show was a much better value. And the Aragon show was a steal at $50.00. Those in charge of setting prices should be more in tune with what their product will bear, and if they need to scale back, so be it.

Review: I too was at the stale stadium show....a couple of thoughts...1. They need to rethink their strategy of playing the 30,000+ venues.(this may even help with some of the sound issues) 2. With the over abundance of tickets available at less than 1/2 price of face value outside the park, they may want to lower ticket prices to something more in line with what the product requires. 3. I agree, the set list was way to predictable, with everything the have to draw from, they can't lose if they just mix it up a little. 4. I think they can still put on an outstanding show. They just need a smaller stage and a less predictable set list.
ps: cool photos!

artist: Rush in concert
Review: What a Rush...Seeing legend Canadian power trio Rush again was indeed a Rush. This band was so tight and the sound was fantastic. It was unbeleivable to see this band again...the last time I saw them was 1986 (Power windows)- the first was 1979 (prior to Permanent Waves). Anyway, Lee, Lifeson & Peart put on a dynamic show with classics like 2112, The Working Man and Vital Signs. Go see this show. Cheers

artist: Cinderella
Review: I concur with your high opinion of Cinderella. That is one good rock band. I am coming to the hair metal thing late in the game -- I was into the Clash, Iggy Pop, Teenage Head, Bob Marley etc. during the 80's -- and hadn't even heard of these hair bands until recently. I was dragged to this summer's concert by a friend who is much younger (and still has her white leather fringed boots stored at her mother's house!), and was just expecting to have a bit of a laugh. However, I was completely impressed, especially with Cinderella.
I have morphed from a punk/reggae fan into a blues/gospel/old country fan -- and I have to say that Tom Keifer is one fabulous blues guitarist and singer.
As for writing/recording new material - I really hope they do.(I think Tom is writing with a country act right now??).
Also -- yours is an excellent and fair review of the Hollyweird concert. The whole grad party metaphor is apt. I hope, however, that class reunion provided the band & its record co. with a hint of how new material might be received. There is a lot of risk in doing at age 40 (plus or minus!) what you did at 20, but those guys appear to have the bollocks to try.

Review: I saw Robert Plant in Columbus, OH on 8/28/02. I had no doubts about his performance. Being a huge Zeppelin fan, it was a great honor to see Robert Plant live! Robert is a true musician and a great performer. He's a man who has a true love for music and puts his heart into it. He has a powerful voice that sends shivers down my spine! I love the man!! I would love to see Page and Plant together someday since I wasnt around during there era of spotlight.

artist: Thw Who
Review: In my opinion the Who is completely overrated. They should have hung it up years ago when the lifeforce of the band Keith Moon died. I don't think Daltrey's voice was that good in the 60s and 70s, let alone today. Townshend's guitar playing, at times can reach brilliance, but mostly it's some pretty sloppy stuff.
Get a life Who fans and stop attacking a writer brave enough to tell it like it is.
Thanks Brad for the great review.

Review: Was I at a circus or the Cher concert? It was difficult to tell. The setting and costumes were waaaaay over the (big?) top. Cher's singing just isn't that great, and she has no stage persona. Oh, and for God's sake, lose the elephant {{{sigh}}}. What was she thinking???

artist: The Who
Review: Brad - If Daltrey's vocals are so awful and Townshend's guitar so lacking, how could this band have done a "ripping" Won't Get Fooled Again or a "blistering" 5:15? Your review doesn't make sense. I saw the band at the Hollywood Bowl this year and they were incredible, for ANY age. What Pete does with his guitar is absolutely unique and, on that night at least, Roger's voice was stronger than ever. I won't be returning to this site again to get dependable feedback on a tour.

artist: The Who / Robert Plant
Review: Nice read on your review of the show. I thought the Who sounded fantastic last year at the NYC concert. It may have been one of the catalysts to get them to tour this year. Regarding Pete Townsend doing his own solo guitar work - I would much rather listen to him play than some professional studio musician - he's the one who wrote the songs in the first place and hearing him play those songs himself - worts and all - would be more enjoyable in my opinion.
