Aretha obviously had planned to ring in the new year with her audience by beginning her countdown an hour early and then telling the audience she will have to do this again in 45 minutes. She knew that she was supposed to perform through new years with her audience. Unfortunately, she chose to end her concert early leaving her fans in disbelief. Many remained in their seats or stood around the lobby in disgust. What a shame the patrons got cheated!The Chicago Theatre will take no responsiblity for what happened that evening.Someone needs to be accountable for the mishap of this evening. How many of us would have a job if we handled business in this manner? Even if you don't like their music, you still have to give them credit for how far they've got. They've been around for a really long time and are farther than most bands will ever get. I've been to a lot of their shows and they don't just end a song and go into another one, they can't help themselves and tell jokes in between and always interact with the audience. They are one of the most popular bands around the world and they have a lot of fans. I happened to be at this show and I think it was a great show.
