This new release by David Bowie, is quite simply stunning. I happened to be listening to it as I was flying over the Atlantic Ocean on my way to Atlanta (US) and could not stop listening to it. In fact, I only listened to it, that's how infectious and thoroughly absorbing it was. It looks as if Mr. Bowie has struck exactly the right chord with this release. The first three tracks, with Pablo Picasso being one of my favorites, because its (wierd and wonderful) complete with distorted guitar riff - and one of the best openers on any album in recent times - New Killer Star, a 'killer' of a track - pardon the pun, but it is. A nice contrast (aside from the ballads like the loneliest guy) at the end is 'Bring Me the Disco King' soulful; emotive. The energy, driving guitar rythyms, shades of light and dark all contribute to this being the best thing since (swiss cheese?) Heathen. Like any fine wine, Bowie just seems to mature ! with time and seems to be in the midst of a creative zenith. David, I salute you with this, your 25th and possibly, one of your greatest releases.
