From the first note of Steve Hackett's acoustic evening, to the last I sat (or stood clapping)with an incredible sense of gratitude. Genesis was my first concert at age 15 in 1975, and I saw Steve with them again in 1977. All through high school and college and now with my own kids I've grown up listening to Steve's music. I can't think of a single other performer who's music I know as intimately. And so I sat there listening, until my mind completely stopped and there was only the marriage of sound and hearing. Last Wednesday night was the most transcendent musical experience I have ever had. The combination and variety of the pieces played was superb. I want to thank Steve and John and Roger for making the trip to Portland. It was an evening I will never foget. And I want to say how gracious and genuine you all were; how refreshing. Keep playing, and come back to Portland when you can,! and in the meantime, know that what you do touches the lives of those who hear. Thank you again.
