Even though Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band's been no stranger to the road as of late, its 2014-2015 outing is particularly noteworthy since it supports "Ride Out" (Capitol), the leader's first new studio album in eight years. Besides displaying a few new tunes, Detroit's finest also played plenty of "Old Time Rock & Roll" (plus a little bit of country, blue-eyed soul and pretty much everything else the heartland has to offer) with his longtime backers in remarkably fiery form. Opening the evening was Boston's The J. Geils Band, who may not have any new material to tote, but nonetheless primed the packed house for the headliner with its boozy, bluesy brand of classic rock that found front man Peter Wolf and company turning the massive arena into a down and dirty house party.
