Review and Photos by Anita Lande

Survivor has flipped-flopped lead singers more times than J-Lo has traded in for a new man. Today, Jimi Jamison is back swinging the mic as Survivor's lead singer. Thank goodness. Even though he is not the official voice on some of Survivor's biggest hits like "Eye of the Tiger" and "Poor Man's Son," his energy, and powerful vocals are the key for the longevity of the band.
This Chicago-based band was formed back in the 70's by Frankie Sullivan, the flashy blonde guitarist, who co-wrote the core hits for the band with former keyboardist/vocalist Jim Peterick. Frankie's guitar solos get better each time you see him. With his paisley pants and black shirt, he performed a burning 15 minute guitar solo with help of backing musicians, Billy Ozzello (bass), Chris Grove (keyboards) and Marc Droubay on drums.
This hard working band had the audience eagerly singing many of their hits including, "Burning Heart," "High On You," "I Can't Hold Back", "Eye Of The Tiger" and their widely popular rock ballad hit, "The Search Is Over."
Survivor is still proving that good rock songs never die. They go the distance and they're a band who's will to survive remains as strong it's will to prove their naysayers wrong.
