Review: Set list was incredible--packed with lots of 1st & 2nd album VH...too bad Dave didn't even seem like he wanted to be there. He rushed through songs, forgot the words to 'Hot For Teacher' and tried to swing around the mike stand without knocking himself out. I was actually a bit embarassed for him.

Review: Loved your review of the Hollywierd tour. I saw Cinderella last week by themselves at a small venue, and they were totally fantastic. You're right, Tom Keifer has such musical talent, from writing, singing, and all the various instruments he plays. I hope they come out with some new music soon, to ride this wave of great tour reviews they have been getting. Poison, whom I saw last year, is okay, but Cinderella is so far above, at least in my book.
Great review and pics. Thanks.

Cinderella totally blew me away and I hope they tour again with Poison next yr as both bands make a great team. Maybe they could rotate with Poison next yr and co-headline the tour. Csilla

i think she needs to get a new voice besides singing through her nose... and if shes still around when i have kids, and my kids start dressing the way she does,it'll be my foot up her ass so that fake role modeland the virgin mary shit needs to stop.and the way she dresses could be a little decenter.i liked her better when she first came out....ya,she still sang threw her nose...but theres a diference between a chipmunk voice and just slightly singing threw your nose.

He thinks too much, with L,Z,his hands on hips(does anybody remember laughter,Stairway}is much more entertaining than his hands dancing like snakes. He should also remember that he has impressed everybody with his singing at every stage of his musical career. Before it is to late Page, plant and john paul jones ,should tour worldwide,we all know any one off these three are ultimate professionals,Robert only has to prove lotalty to millions of Led Zeppelin fans{Front man,Singer, songwriter,Entertainer,Greek living legend love god and 100% music lover and 100% music giver.

Review: Tony, Tony, Tony........only a man could refer to "The Golden One" in such a manner. Yes, time marches on for all of us, but Robert Plant is looking mighty fine. I am so glad that you appreciate his brilliant voice. I look at "Dreamland" as a gift to his fans. While there is no mistaking the Legacy he and the rest of Led Zeppelin have made, this is Robert--singing His choices, on his terms. Thank goodness he is sharing this with us. As the man himself said, He is looking back, while going forward. Can you really ever go home?

I would love to see another Page and Plant reunion, but until then, let Plant shine on his own, as he does quite brilliantly. (By the way, I was at that Milwaukee show--yes--I am quite the fan!)

Review: I think you should get off the Jimmy/Zep thing...those were great days for Robert...WERE is the key word here. Now he's doing something new, and it's just as GREAT. You need to learn to think outside the box a little.
Time doesn't stand still. You either got to move with it gracefully, take some risks and allow change, or you're gonna stagnate in the still water!
I thought Robert and Strange Sensation Rocked HARD! I love Robert's new sound and my hat's off to him for being brave enough to take the risk and move ahead. I also think his artistic expression of the uncertain times we live in is chilling! Isn't that what art is really about? Trying to make some sense out of all the chaos around us?

Doug Donoughe, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania artist: Robert Plant & The Who
Review: I (my father actually) drove 4 hours to get there, and we would drive four hourse back, ending up at our house in deep night (around 5:30). Yet, it was worth it fifty-fold! I saw The Who with specail guest Robert Plant in Hershey Park, Pennsylvania. It was the first concert that I, a 14 year old Classic Rock fanatic, would see. I had come moreso to see the former God of Rock and Roll, Robert Plant, but I would soon learn that The Who, though carrying only 2 original members, was nothing to miss. Robert Plant played many great Led Zeppelin hits and I didn't think it could get better as Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You played out with hard blues rock intensity. But, after I got off from standing on my chair and braced myself for The Who, Robert Plant struck again. Better than what I had wished for, Darkness Darkness, he played the quintessential track from Led Zeppelin II, Whole Lotta Love. Sure enough, the opening act had served its purpose. I was pumped and pulsating.
I anxoiusly awaiting what songs The Who would play but I didn't they think would be better than "Percy." Man, was I wrong! Starting off with Who Are You, The Who played many good hits. It was good, but not as good as it could be. Then, the farther we got into the concert, the better it got. The true superb power of the concert was first shown at the start of Baba O'Riley, one of my favorite Who songs, and sure enough I was standing on my seat. The lights where spectacular and in red what and blue lights "WHO" was outlined in red, white, and blue. Noteable also was the frontman's making fun of American television. After that the concert was pure Rock and Roll bliss! Playing songs such as My Generation, Behind Blue Eyes, You Better You Better You Bet, and Bargain, the concert proved itself to be one of the greatest of all time. I thought it was about time for them to end. I was dissapointed that they did not play Won't Get Fooled Again or Pinball Wizard. Sure enough, I was wrong.
The concert reached its apex when the encore of Won't Get Fooled Again was played. They then played many encore songs, included a great Pinball Wizard that lasted for quite a while. All in all, this was a night I will never forget.

Review: Tony,
Excellent article on Robert Plant, who is arguably the greatest frontman of them all. I got a chance to catch Robert's show in Wash, DC ...I think about May 2001, and he sang a few of these current songs...and finished the set with Whole Lotta Love....Just another great night and performance by Robert. Also, it's amazing how awesome those songs from Zep 1 are even today...The album sits by my desk at work, and when I get a little tired in the afternoon, and a cup of coffee will not work; Zep 1 never fails....thanks again for you nice article, and photos!!

Review: Evolution is a word that very few people use these days. Like all great artist, Robert Plant is constantly learning more about himself and his fellow man by stretching the aspects of his canvas year after year. I applaud his growth and his contribution to music; similar to Mozart or Miles Davis, etc. Led Zep will always be archived and referenced. However, let's enjoy whatever Robert Plant gives us today; while we still can.

Review: I would like to see reviewers get over the notion that Robert needs Jimmy Page to survive and/or have a good show. This is the here and now. Robert's sound is now his own and he should be given the respect and kudos he deserves. I was at this show, as well as RockFest in Cadott, WI. Both shows were top notch, proving that Robert Plant still has the chops. Robert's former bandmates are and were fine musicians, but they're not needed in his current SOLO outings.

Review: From this review and others I've read, Robert's new show is a flavor of "bittersweet" . His presence and ability is still clearly there, but I don't think he does his diehard fans justice in playing such short sets that barely touch the depth of what he is known for. It's not so much missing Jimmy or Bonzo wasn't there, but just that he should do more of what he's famous for.....

Review: Holy Crap!!! The Return of RUSH!!! They KICKED some MAJOR ASS Friday night! 3 hour show, minimal amount of bullshit from the dreadful 90's albums, some good stuff from their excellent new Vapor Trails CD, which is the best from them in years, and they even played a full rendition of By-Tor and the Snowdog! I though they might be rusty from 5 years off, but this was without a doubt the best I have ever heard them, and beleive me, I have seen them many times over the years since my first Rush concert in 1975 (remember that one T.B.?). Two excellent sets, sound was fantastic, band was tight as could be for a live show, sound was awesome, even had some cool video and fire on the stage, and 3 clothes dryers behind Geddy (roadies kept them going with quarters throughout the show) were more interesting than a stack of Marshalls! All of you Rush fans, especially those who were turned off by their lame 90's efforts (at least I was) should go see them now! You will not be disa! ppointed!

Review: I'm in the Air Force and was sent to Korea for the next year. Before I left Tucson AZ, I was lucky enough to catch Social D four different times. Once in Vegas, another time in Phoenix, and two times in Anaheim CA. Every concert was incredible. They really are better in concert than any of their studio recordings...and I think those are top notch!
I grew up in Orange County in the 80s and didn't really discover the bands music until I was in the military living in FL and saw an cd in my roomates collection that looked interesting. I played it once and was instantly hooked. The cd...."Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell". I have my own collection now days and eagerly anticipate the addition of a new Social D cd any time now. Anyone have good information on when it will come out? When I saw SD in Vegas, Mike said the cd would be out in the summer of 2001. A year later it's still in the works. I know the band isn't wealthy, the touring they do now is probably helping pay for the new cd. Hopefully they'll make enough to put it out soon.

Review: While I was not at the concert, I would like to say that I think your review was exceptionally cruel! While you may be trying to shoot straight from the hip I think you have had a lapse of memory and forgotten to give credit where credit is due. It appears that you were more intrigued with her physical assets rather than what this woman has accomplished in the entertainment field. Even if at times her performance lacked the luster you were looking for a nice word from you concerning what she has contributed to the music field would have added some sweetness to your very bitter tasting review, Mr Max Jensen. I was always taught to focus on the positive rather than the negative.

He was kind enough to give us a heads up on the first and last song of the night from the playlist onstage. Sheryl was mesmirizing, and I have to say it was the best experience at a concert I've ever had. She had a great audience participation factor and she sang all the hits we know and love. She is truly the greatest woman rocker of her time.

Review: Corey Feldman is a Child Star
Driving down to the bar we couldn't stop giggling. One friend wore his Goonies T-shirt, another friend brought her Goonies DVD to try and get Corey Feldman to sign. I was going to bring my home dub of The ‘Burbs that I taped from USA but I forgot. Someone suggested that when Feldman hits the stage we be tragically disappointed that it's not the other Corey and I haven't heard so many 8 ball jokes in my life. Our expectations were so high Corey would have to come in via hoverpack or come from up under the stage on some kind of elevator with smoke billowing around him. Yet, somehow, when the show ended all of our expectations were surpassed. Not an easy task, but Feldman was up to it.
Is opening for The Corey Feldman Band a high or low point in a bands career? In the opening bands case it may have been both. They were worth the cover alone. It's hard to describe but they were somehow the perfect band to open for Corey Feldman. The crowd didn't respond to them at all but that didn't stop them from overplaying their parts by miles. The lead singer would rub his chest and throw his arm over the shoulder of the bass player. The drummer kept a lit cig in his mouth through entire songs. There was even a guitar solo duel at the end of the set. I didn't think things like that happened in real life. I really can't do justice to the laughable over-performence of a band that did a speed rock version of Will You Sill Love Me Tomorrow. We all laughed through their entire 45 minute set. The whole experience was shocking enough but the night was young and Corey was in the house.
The keyboard player took the stage first. He sat down at his Roland RV-7 and played some spacey synth chords. Next came the drummer, sounding like he was soundchecking. The bass player joined next as the song started to build toward its climax: Feldman. Then the first surprise and the beginning of a theme that would last through the entire show, and well into the night I believe, as two attractive women, dressed in black skirts and cleavage tops, took their place at the two mics on our side of the stage. Corey Feldman has backup singers! We were pleased. At this point the song sounded like the Chicago Bulls were about to take the court. But Corey slipped on stage while everyone was still distracted by all the instant questions one has when realizing Corey Feldman's backup singers just took the stage. Apparently Corey attended the Elaine Benis school of dance in his time preparing for this tour. He wore black pants that may have been velvet, a huge purple pirate jac!
ket that went to his knees and a giant black pimp hat that hid his face. One of my friends described Corey's outfit as combination Prince and Bo-Peep on acid. The song switched gears around here so the drums and guitar only played on the forth beat. Corey stood with his back to the audience, throwing fists in the air in time with the chord changes, conducting his band. This went on for a while, maybe 30 seconds, which is a long time to an audience. Then the song peaked. Corey spun and faced the stunned crowd, his black hat casting shadows down to his chin. He then lurched forward, grabbed the microphone and Corey Feldman was singing. This was a good 9 minutes into the song. Just unbelievable.
His singing and most of the songs sound exactly as you'd expect them to with most sounding like Give It Away by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Except one song that sounded oddly like The Wallflowers. After that first song, Corey spoke, "That was called Soul Searcher Part1. This is Soul Searcher Part 2." We were indeed seeing The Corey Feldman Band. Near the end of this song Corey reached into his pants and actually pulled out a harmonica and stated squeezing out some long, really high pitched notes. Everybody cringed.
Everything was pretty surreal but the night was just getting started. After the 2nd song Corey began the kind of banter I'd been looking forward to. "I want to tell you a story. Chicago has the greatest food, the greatest restaurants – which we didn't get to enjoy because we're here instead of dinner but . . . And the best looking chics in the Midwest! We've never played here before. We done a few bar openings and stuff but this is the first time we've gotten to play in the city! So this next song is about drug addiction, maybe you can relate. It's called Disease." Great story Corey. You can't make this stuff up.
Another highlight of the beginning of the show was before a song Corey asked, "Where's my guitar?" Which drew a huge cheer from the crowd. He found it, played three chords about 12 times to begin the song and then just let the thing hang around his neck. That and the aforementioned harmonica are the only instruments, beside his golden voice of course, that Corey would play. Oh and Corey was topless at this point, song three.
By song 5 they were playing covers. First was the Jackson 5's "One More Time", which Corey left the stage for and let the bass player sing but not before announcing, "He has an 8 year old black child living in his chest." Then Corey came back in a black leather jacket, which is available at coreyfeldman.com for a mere $5000, and did adult Jackson's dance moves as only C Feld can. Another strange thing on this song: I think he was trying to sound like Jackson but couldn't sing that high so they put an effect on his voice that kicked it up about 1 ½ octaves. It made him completely indecipherable and sound like he was in the witness protection program. An odd choice, even for Corey.
The thing that made the whole evening, at least up to this point, so . . . indescribable, is how straight Corey played it. There was no hint of irony nor did he seem to realize that everybody was there, not to hear his music, but because this would be such a strange phenomenon . . . "The Corey Feldman BAND?! Are you serious?! This I've got to see!" Like drivers slowing down to look at a car crash. But to Corey he was a rock star and everyone was there to rock along with him.
Then he blew it and turned the whole thing into a joke. His weakness was revealed as a very, very, VERY busty woman got on someone's shoulders and flashed him. So before the next song he brought her and every attractive woman he could find up on stage. He encouraged them to "dance sexy and if you wanna show your tits you can." The song was Pink Floyd's "Young Lust". But the most amazing part was that Corey grabbed a mini-DV cam and whilst singing Roger Water's lyrics filmed the women. He was also not shy about turning the camera on himself, all parts of himself, grinding with his new friends. One friend looked at me and flexed his biceps, reminding me of the Phil Collins scene in American Psycho. That was just about right. Never in my life have I heard anyone ask to get flashed as many times as Corey did last night. And no body would. Including "Young Lust", three times he brought women on stage, taped them with himself, and tried to get them to flash. Not one would! Not even the stripper, who at one point, he rolled around on the stage with. Amazing. His need to see breasts was just unparalleled. Hugh Hefner and Larry Flynt would have exchanged looks had they been there last night. While introducing The Who's "Teenage Wasteland", Corey had this to say, "Who likes The Who? Alright. This is a tribute to a man who died last week. One of the greatest bassists in the history of rock . . ." At this point Cor was distracted as another woman (who turned out to be the stripper) got on someone's shoulders. "Are you gonna flash? Come on!" She lifted her top half way. "That's a tease! It's gotta be at least 30 seconds (!) to even count! Come on, do it! Come on! No? Okay. So anyway, he was one of the greatest bassists in the history of rock . . ." He also encouraged the ladies to see someone at the back, who was selling T-shirts with Corey's face on them, to get directions to where the after-party was going to be.
Another thing worth mentioning is one guy who showed up with every intension of irritating Corey all night. He'd flick cigarrettes at him and yell for Corey Haim. There were cardboard stars on every table from a private party right before the show. He Picked them up from each table saying, "These are for Corey – he's a child star." Then kept handing then to Feldman all night. At one point he even got on stage and threw a couple stars Corey's way. Feldman had had enough, "Someone's about to get jacked! You have a problem? Well, you're about to have a BIG PROBLEM!" That's when security urshed the guy out. A good move, anything could have happened.
Things wrapped up for 90% of the crowd around midnight as they did the last song and said goodnight. As we were leaving a roadie took the stage saying, "Where you going? I heard Chicago stays up all night! All night long!" He said something about an encore. But we'd experienced all we could take. Most people didn't pay any attention and streamed out of the place. A fitting end of the night.
