I own over 3000-5000 albums and am age 22 (young to make a list) I feel the albums they put on that list were a rock 101 for dummies, yet they claim that list is accurate and expect you to follow and believe what they say. I mean, most people dont live and breathe music so the one hit song on the albums they made is as far as the listener got to hearing. Hearing an album that doesnt get radioplay, press, or any promotion to me is usually the best stuff. Let It Bleed is for sure higher than # 28. I bet the listener didnt even listen to all of Midnight Rambler before skipping to Gimme Shelter. Anyway, Dave Matthews Band got NO press in the top 500. Under the Table, Crash, and Before These Crowded Streets, the bands first three albums ALL deserve to be on that list. I have never heard albums with such consistancy and emotional playing as those. The band sells out stadiums multiple nights and is to me the largest tourin! g act in the country. Phish another "culture" form of music got no press. I know their albums are not "top 500" standard, but cnosidering some of the shit they put on there they deserve to have at least one. That band goes as un-recognized as any great band gets. The only good thing that I can salvage from that 52 hour trip was the knockout preformance of Radiohead. This was the first time that any of us had ever caught a live show of this band. That we have loved since Pablo Honey. Their set was air tight and the preformance of "Where I End and You Begin", "We Suck Young Blood" and "You and who's army" was bone chilling.The lead guitar additons to "Fake Plastic Trees" was more than any of us could have asked for. This was by far the best show I have ever seen from any band in my young life. This band is way to under appricated in today's MTV/MUCH MUSIC shit stain excuse for a top 40. And I tend to disagree with critics who say that their albums of late have been anything less than brilaint. Shortly after the concert we where rear ended by a drunk on the highway just outside Alpine Valley. My Girlfriend was rushed to the near by Wollworth county hospital. We had p! laned to drive back to Canada that night but now because of a biker convention and the concert there wasent an room to rent for 160 Miles, and we had no place to sleep. The Sherifs office in wollworth did not help us with adivce,or a lift to the nearest Airport/bus station.That coupled with their complete fucking lack of shear compassion for people visiting their country made this ordeal wost. This concert was amazing and the scenery was also breath taking. But the reason that Americans are disliked the world over was evident to us that weekend.
