David Holland, 55, had been giving the 17-year-old boy drumming lessons between June and December of 2002 at his home in England when the incidents occurred. The boy, who suffers from learning disabilities, was encouraged to take the lessons by his parents who had that hoped time spent with Holland would improve their sonÔs self-esteem. Holland was found guilty of one charge of attempted rape and five counts of indecent assault by a jury at Northampton Crown Court in the UK. Spiros Laouitaris, 22, a frequent visitor at HollandÔs home, was also accused of assaulting the teen. Laouitaris has been cleared of four counts of indecent assault. According to the BBC, as the relationship between the teacher and pupil evolved the teen started to occasionally spend the night at HollandÔs home. During the overnight stays, the former rocker allegedly allowed the boy to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. The parents of the teen finally caught wind of the assaults after they received a letter from their son on December 14, 2002 describing the abuse. AND theyre one of the bands that people ACTUALLY like. You don't hear about them one day, and then not hear about them the next. There lyrics are stupid sometimes, but its all done in humor. Plus, you don't hear many other bands with as good a drummer as travis. Also, if you are a true blink fan, you'd know that they consider themselves growing up. Look at their lyrics in their new self-titled ablum. its not all fun and games there. If you'd watched the downloads at blink182.com, you'd know that their progression to this album was slower, longer, and harder than their other albums. Along with their little kid-dish behavior and immature jokes are cool people who just want to make music; who are already making awesome music. From the photos I can see they're using guitar and two violins which can make a wonderous combination, as proven by the Corrs.
