From the powerful and emotional vocals and guitar parts from Sean Danielson, to the insane bass solos of Ryan Martin, with of course the rythym of Derek Gledhill on the drums. This cd is completely awesome no matter what way you look at it. This trio out of Santa Clara California buts their heart and soul along with their experiences into this all the songs in this cd, and it shows, They also use the same emotion in their shows. I saw them on September 1 of 2003 and they blew the roof off of Chicago's House of Blues with songs like Nowhere Kids, Eraser, and the closer Bottom Of A Bottle. They also poured their hearts out with the songs With This Knife and a solo by Sean of This is War. Although they were only opening up for Trapt, they played like they were the main eventers themselves. I have seen both groups many times, especially in their beginnings. It was everything you would expect and more. EWF started the night after their cooperative start. They were tight and very strong. From the distance I was at I couldn't tell how they had aged and they looked as good as they did in Atlanta over 25 years ago. When Chicago came out they did a 5 minute "montage" of songs which "showed off" their horn section. Being a musician I enjoyed it but couldn't help wonder if other fans would have liked them to start with complete songs in "old favorite" mode. They took awhile to get started but they did. Bill Champlin has been a favorite of mine since the "Sons", however, some songs that he sang had been sung originally by others (some deceased) that might have fit better. The mind-set at these concerts are that people want to hear exactly what was on the record/CD. When the two bands played together doing both bands material, they were unstopable. 2 drummers, 2 percussi! onists, 2 horn sections! It was a very enjoyable concert and I doubt that anyone who likes either one of these bands would be disappointed. Even though I have commented abit on Chicago, I don't mean to be hard on them. I have seen them many times and on a scale of 1-10 where they are usually a 10, I would give them an 8. Probably because of set list and not because of playing.
