He performs so well in front of an audience. He plays the crowd. He not only entertains us with his wonderful voice, but with his charm and wit. The first half of the show is fun and cheerful. He makes the audience laugh and have fun. The second half was very spiritual. He sang so beautifuly it brought me to tears from the time he walked back on stage to the end of the show. He sings with so much emotion, it reached my soul. When he came out for his encore Good News, I was again brought to tears. The song was sung with such power from this man, it was like he was the angel himself, bringing the message of Good News to us. Clay has such an amazing voice, and hearing him sing those Christmas songs live was a very special Christmas gift. I enjoy his comical banter between songs almost as much as the music. He has such a charming personality. It was a great night! DANA NASH, CHICAGO, IL 12/31/04 artist: CLAY AIKEN Review: I was in the 7th row 4 from the aisle. I couldn't have asked for better seats. Claymate, known on the Bolt boards as Honda 98, melted in her seat as Clay knelt down and sang to the girl at the aisle seat, two seats away. I actually got to look at Clay really close, and he is very good looking. Since I am 60 and not melting away at the 26 year old, I am an artist by profession and I noted he has excellent bone structure. His fingers are long and with animal grace. The animal grace is a line from David Bowie's Lady Stardust. I followed Bowie for years, slim, talented, gorgeous and amazing hands like Clays'. It sounds like I was captivated by his looks only, not at all. The is the "voice", probably what my grandmother yelled at my mother about, her obsession with Frank Sinatra and that "voice". Clay has a range of high and low, he hit everything effortlessly. He seemed natural and gracious with the audience, young and old alike, male and female, children and very grown children. We felt like children, he made us feel warm and that we all fit in the grand scheme of things. The set design was simple, but elegant. To get the full gravity of this concert you have to understand the extreme planning that Clay did in each city. Working with choirs, young and old and an orchestra from each city and to have that rehersal that afternoon and pull it off as it were accomplished by this same group night and night was amazing. Great job Clay! You are a true talent, the likes of Sinatra, Crosby, Bowie, Dean Martin and yet you seem unscathed by all this attention. You are unique and remarkable and we just love the voice!
