Mary, San Antonio, TX 10/09/03 artist: Aerosmith Review: I consider myself a failry large Aerosmith fan. I've seen them each time they've come to San Antonio in the past 4 years. This was, by far, the most I've ever paid for tickets. They weren't even good seats. But, after all, it was for Aerosmith. Perhaps, you can understand how truly disappointed I was in their performance. They played only until 11:00, while in years past it was well past midnight. There were so many songs that they didn't play. But, worst of all, they didn't come back out for an encore. Everyone's standing around yelling and clapping and then the house lights come up and it's over. What's that about??? It's a small world huh? Dean is not one to give up...I hope he records another album soon. I like to hear some of his other songs. Mike Dixon, The Woodlands, Texas 10/06/03 artist: Aerosmith/Kiss Review: Despite the torrential downpour from the Texas skies, the Aerosmith/Kiss concert of October 5, 2003, rocked! Saliva was the entry band that really got the audience pumped for what was in store. Almost on queue, the lightning and thunder began to fire up as soon as Kiss hit the stage. With songs like Lick It Up, and pyrotechnics blazing in the background, Mother Nature enhanced the show with her own sound and light show. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons kept the audience ecstatic beyond belief. As if that was not enough, after leaving the stage for a brief moment, Peter Chriss came back and awed the crowd with "Beth". The accoustics were excellent for this ballad and it was as if Mother Nature knew to stop the thunder. Finally Kiss ended their segment with the classic Rock and Roll All Night. Next on the billing was Aerosmith, who started their set with a riveting version of Mama Kin. They did other favorites such as Toys In The Attic, Sweet Emotion, Seasons of ! Wither, and Walk This Way before diving head first into their latest more commercialized hits of Pink, Jaded and Crying. Another treat was Joe Perry's "Let The Music Do The Talking" which was a true guitar classic on its own. As far as ratings go, Saliva was definitely prepared and hungry for success and worked the crowd up and therefore I give them four out of five stars. Kiss, by far, was the best band on stage this night which was amazing since the fans had the worst storm surge during their set. Kiss clearly earned five stars out of five stars for their pertformance. Aerosmith (who by the way is my favorite band of the three), put on a very ho-hum show. They started out well with older music but as their show went along, it seemed they were ready to move on to their next gig. Of course, no encore even solidified that notion. I give Aerosmith four out of five stars. I think long time Aerosmith fans will be disappointed by their preformance. In all fairness, I e! njoyed every last moment of the show and give the overall show! five stars out of five stars.
