People had been camped out since midnight, the line for beer stretched the length of the stadium, and little clouds of smoke rose up across the lawn. This was a concert as only the Dave Matthews Band could produce. The stadium at Vanderbilt University in Nashville was packed on the hot Tennessee evening, as the crowd gathered on the field and bleachers to catch the much talked about show.

Classic country singer Robert Earl Keen started off the evening followed by crowd favorite, Jason Mraz. Mraz brought out the hits early, including "The Remedy," which the crowd eagerly helped him mash with Oasis' "Wonderwall." He told the crowd he had run the Music City Half Marathon earlier that morning, and joked that a single Dave Matthews' song had lasted him four miles (Matthews is known for releasing extended live versions of his songs). Though, Mraz is no stranger to musical improvisation within his sets. His fast paced lyrics combined with his band's musical talent and some well done scatting brought the crowd to their feet, dancing as the sun set.

The crowd was uproarious as the Dave Matthews Band finally took to the stage. This tour marks the first since the untimely death of original saxophonist, LeRoi Moore. The band was in top form though, playing effortlessly through the opening number, "Bartender." As they continued into the classic "Grey Street," Jeff Coffin (Moore's replacement) proved his worth as the horn section blew the crowd away. The band played through an eighteen song set, putting personal touches on every song. Songs ranged from the well known "Satellite," to a crowd pleasing cover of Talking Heads' "Burning Down the House." The Dave Matthews Band closed out the evening with an extended ten minute version of "Watchtower," showcasing the infinite staying power of the iconic band.
