After almost 30 years as a band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are no longer kids. Lead
singer and group founder Anthony Kiedis celebrated his 50th birthday along with
fellow founder bassist Flea (Michael Balzary), age 50, longtime band member drummer
Chad Smith, age 51, and most recent and youngest band member guitarist Josh
Klinghofffer, age 33, at BMO Harris Bradley Center last thursday night. Having been
recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, these veteran rockers may not
be the innovators they once were but can still pull in an enthusiastic crowd with
their high energy live show. Flea is as intense as ever as a bass player and as
presence on stage. Even Klinghoffer who is recovering from breaking his foot on
stage this summer, kept up with the frantic pace even from a mostly seated position.
