Country Thunder keeps its roots rollin'
and boots off the ground

And the rains came yet again to the farm fields of Twin Lakes, WI last weekend. Some way some how the country rain gods drench this event at Shadow Hill Ranch every year without fail. Sure enough, after a 10 day drought, the skies opened up just as campers and soon-to-be revelers were entering the campgrounds. Mud was one's constant companion throughout this four day festival.

Some heavy-hitters of Country Music like Chris Stapleton (a wonderful set as smooth as "Tennesses Whiskey"), Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives (effortlessly venturing into surf music, gospel, Western swing, rockabilly, bluegrass, and folk), Lindsay Ell (an amazing guitar goddess whose highlights included searing renditions of "By The Way," "Gravity," "Waiting On You" and "All Alright) and Country legend and the very chiseled Tim McGraw (whose performance was a wonderful mix of Country Soul and badass rock n' roll. What makes Country Thunder such a draw year after year is its perfect balance of party, music and, yes mud.
